A Slice of Joy – a psychological video game created on the RPG Maker engine. The protagonist is a young man, Finn, who commits suicide at the very beginning. In the afterlife, he is met by a mysterious girl, Aoi, who offers him to see if those around him really don't care about his death. Despite the fact that the protagonist did not expect anything good from those around him, he agrees. Now that the main character has temporarily returned to the world of the living, he must finish his last business and learn an important lesson from his existence, which was interrupted so early.

The gameplay of A Slit of Joy is quite simple. The protagonist and his companion travel through locations, interact with some objects and engage in dialogue with characters. Fights and search for objects, typical for traditional Western projects, are absent here. Instead of gameplay, the developer strives to impress users with the plot and characters. Finn is initially a normal person whose life was broken as a result of numerous tragedies.

He is killed by depression, does not expect anything good and has completely lost faith in people. Accompanying him is Aoi – a mysterious ghost, pursuing vague motives regarding the hero. The gamer's choices are of great importance, since the ending depends on them. In total, several endings are implemented here, in which the fate of the dead protagonist develops differently. The overall passage of the game takes from 45 minutes to one hour.
