Assassin's Creed Syndicate throws users into the era of the industrial revolution, when in the mid-19th century there was a leap in development, and it gained an unprecedented pace. The events take place in London, which by the time of the game has grown and is presented in full size. Trains, ferries, factories, huge columns of smoke – all this is an integral part of the setting. At the center of events are twins representing the Rook gang and the Order of Assassins. Evie and Jacob learn that somewhere in the city there is the Shroud of Eden, a Forerunner artifact that the Templars want to get their hands on. At the same moment, the main antagonist is announced – tycoon Crawford Starrick, who is also the Master of the Templars. To put an end to him, it is necessary to eliminate his henchmen one by one, simultaneously freeing the areas of London from the influence of the hostile order.

During gameplay, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate allows you to switch between the main characters. And although in general there are no special tricks in managing a brother and sister, Evie prefers to act more secretly, while Jacob prefers open confrontations. The combat system has remained virtually unchanged since the previous part. Enemies are divided into levels, and fighting high-level opponents is now extremely unprofitable. But if your opponents are clumsy thugs, you can break through their defenses with a combo, and then use a finishing move. Violation of secrecy during an alarm does not occur for the entire level, but only for a small part of it, so if something happens, you don’t have to worry about the imminent arrival of a whole squad of police or thugs.

The arsenal includes a pistol, caste, cane and the ever-present hidden blade. A grappling hook has appeared, with which you can quickly climb onto hills and fly between wide streets without descending to the ground. This makes gameplay much easier in some situations. As for missions, the Assassin's Creed: Syndicate system offers several variations of killing each key Templar. For example, you can steal the keys from the guards, entering the mansion unnoticed, or pretend to be a corpse in the morgue, finding yourself in the building without a single murder. One way or another, there is no need to talk about linearity and uniformity. There are also references to history, because on missions from a later time period you can meet Nikola Tesla, Winston Churchill and other personalities.
