BATTLEFIELD 5 moves away from the settings that were the basis of the project previously, and immerses users in the era of World War II. The story campaign consists of episodes based on operations that actually took place at that time. The piece, called Tirailleur, tells the story of the battles of Senegalese fighters in France, where the protagonist is a young recruit. The opening episode, called “My Country Calling”, tells the story of a British paratrooper who enters battle just after war is declared in his country. Part of Nordlys takes the player to Norway in 1943, where a girl as part of a commando unit must destroy heavy water reserves and also save her captured mother. There is also a campaign on the German side, which features the story of a Tiger tank commander, and an episode of Under No Flag, where Arthur Bridger's son must take part in a dangerous operation in North Africa. All these parts reveal the main mechanics and features of the game.

Features and mechanics of the BATTLEFIELD V project:

• Nonlinearity – already from the start of the mission the player is made to understand that there are several options for achieving the goal, and you can be resourceful in this aspect.
• Stealth – some tasks can be completed secretly, using throwing knives or killing opponents from behind
• Destructibility – this aspect has been preserved and migrated from other parts of the series.

At the same time, some things in “Battlefield 5” are implemented an order of magnitude worse than in previous projects in the series. For example, if you lie in the bushes a meter from the enemy, who, moreover, is looking in the direction of the user, the latter may go unnoticed. But in the next similar situation he may be discovered and opened fire. The available arsenal is fully consistent with the time frames covered in the episodes. There is also multiplayer, where up to 64 gamers can participate in matches simultaneously.
