Book of Travels belongs to the TMORPG genre. The developers themselves call their creation a tiny online role-playing game with calm gameplay. The emphasis is not on statistics and numbers, but on research. The game has a character editor. In it you can choose personal qualities, background and zodiac sign for your hero.

The indie title invites users to travel along the Braided Coast alone, occasionally crossing paths with other users, or as part of a small company. However, there are no guilds here. The ability to communicate in text or voice chat is also missing. It is assumed that players will rarely cross paths and interact with each other using icons. For the sake of this idea, the developers specifically limited the number of people on the servers. Book of Travels does not have global goals, real quests or a full-fledged storyline. But there are random events. You can move around the locations on foot or by rail.

In the title you can collect herbs, weave knots, fish, make tea, make fires, trade, play musical instruments and learn melodies. Other activities are gradually becoming available.
