Bug Dolls: Soviet Project is an adventure horror film set in a small town overrun by living and deadly dolls. In 1991, the authorities evacuated the entire population in Zhukovsk. Residents were lied to about the reasons for their forced move, but no one could do anything about it. The main character is an ordinary citizen of his state who could not be evacuated.

The central character was sick and did not even know that all the residents were leaving. Finding himself alone in the town, he must explore his surroundings and understand what happened. As he explores, he will encounter paranormal phenomena and mysterious beetle dolls. The user will have to solve puzzles and move between vast locations, encountering dangers and numerous obstacles.

The project includes over 15 hours of gameplay. The plot is told in a non-linear manner depending on the gamer's choices. There are multiple endings and many side events that can only be reached by making certain choices. The world is half open, filled with dangers and secrets. The user can decide whether to fight with opponents or act quietly, trying not to draw attention to himself. The town is made in the style of the late USSR and is filled with mysticism.
