Call to Arms – Gates of Hell: Ostfront moves events to the Eastern Front, offering to take part in the iconic battles of the Second World War. There are 3 campaigns to choose from: practice, for Germany and for the USSR. They unfold from 1941 to 1945. The main chapters feature 5 missions, while the training, also supported by the plot, develops over 2 levels. At the same time, the equipment, equipment, and especially the terrain were meticulously recreated based on real ones. To simulate the environment and situations, archival recordings and interviews with battle veterans were used.

The gameplay in Gates of Hell: Ostfront remains unchanged from the original. At its core, it is a real-time strategy game. The player controls a limited number of troops of various types, with the help of which he must complete tasks on an open map. Campaigns even allow you to form your own army. In addition, what is happening is filled with realistic simulation. Infantry, for example, can withstand only a few hits each. And the equipment is damaged modularly and requires fuel and a crew to function.

The main feature is the ability to control troops from different perspectives. You can either command them from a bird's eye view or go into third and even first person. In this mode, you will be able to control any unit personally. The rest at this time are controlled by artificial intelligence. The infantry even has inventories containing weapons, ammunition and medicine. Those are allowed to move freely between combat units.
