Calturin is a game of the “bullet hell” genre, as you progress through it the gamer will have to destroy stronger bosses and gain powerful combat abilities. The necromancer resurrects the main character after death and holds him in his own power, promising freedom if he obeys him. To get to his reward, the player will have to navigate between mysterious portals and travel to previously unexplored planets, fighting and destroying enemies.

The perspective is presented from a top-down view. The graphics are two-dimensional and have a minimal number of effects. The user will have to navigate the released magic spheres and enemy projectiles in order to dodge and not receive unnecessary damage. Gradually the central character becomes stronger and acquires new items. Each portal has two additional colors: red and black, making the gameplay more difficult and making enemies more powerful.

There is a speedrun mode for quickly passing and counting time. While passing levels, the gamer will have to choose which abilities to upgrade, which will affect the combat style and capabilities. The storyline is told through voiced secondary characters and dialogue between them. The main character fights the dark army and will meet 8 hardcore bosses. The user will need to choose 1 improvement out of 3, such as increasing movement speed, increasing maximum health, or a new spell.
