Castle Story is a real-time strategy game with sandbox elements. The indie project uses a voxel engine. It allows you to realistically destroy buildings. Events take place on large islands that hang in the air above the water. The user controls the Bricktrons.

These little people can become explorers, miners, diggers, builders, carvers and other specialists. Access to various building elements and objects (wooden floors, stone walls, stairs, doors) opens as you collect certain resources in sufficient quantities. Castle Story has a single player mode. Its purpose is to build and strengthen the citadel during the day, and to repel the attacks of the Corruptrons at night. You can design and build any structure. At night, residents take up weapons (swords, spears, shields, bows, crossbows) and defend themselves. You can fire at enemies with catapults, drop barrels of gunpowder on them, and lure them into traps.

There is also multiplayer, which is available via online and LAN. In it, players can fight among themselves. In addition, there is a co-op, where users are allowed to place buildings together and jointly repel attacks from monsters. There is also a map editor. It allows users to create their own worlds.
