Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is a continuation of the previous part. The main character is Gabriel Belmont, a descendant of a famous clan that fought against vampires. However, Gabriel was cursed and took the side of Darkness, turning into Dracula. Tired of his immortal existence, the vampire seeks death in the hope of finding peace. An old acquaintance Zobek is called to help, who owns a long-broken Vampire Killer sword capable of killing Dracula. However, in return Zobek demanded help. As it turns out, the world is under threat of the apocalypse. The insidious ruler of Hell, Satan, is plotting a coup and wants to take over the world. Now Dracula has to defeat the devil and his Followers in order to get the desired artifact. During the course of the story, the protagonist will enter portals, moving through time. Therefore, the project is filled with fragments from previous parts, the events of which are closely related.

Due to the change of side, the gameplay has undergone significant changes. The Battle Cross had to be put aside, replaced by the Void Sword, Chaos Claws and Shadow Whip. In addition, the hero has access to Dark magic, which consumes the scale. New is the concentration scale, which will allow you to slow down time and deal more damage. During battles, Dracula gains experience, which can be spent on improving his abilities. So, you can increase your health and magic, as well as learn new spells. During combat, the character can roll, block and parry attacks. Among the enemies there are various minions of Satan. Demons come in different strengths and classes. In some plot points, the hero will have to fight with the Followers, who are the bosses. This type of opponent is particularly dangerous, and fighting them takes a lot of time.
