Chaos Wars is a tactical RPG that takes gamers on a journey through a setting where characters from various series such as Growlanser, Shadow Hearts, Gungrave, Spectral Force and others collide in an intricate crossover narrative. The main character, Hyoma, an ordinary schoolboy from Tokyo, accompanied by two friends, unexpectedly finds himself in Endia, an alternative kingdom. Here he meets Rin, Endia's gatekeeper, who reveals to him that Hyouma has unique abilities as a “knight” in this unfamiliar world. Hyouma's plans to return home take an unexpected turn when he becomes embroiled in a conflict with the Luin organization, which is hunting for the “Keys” – devices that can open gates and summon additional knights.

Chaos Wars seamlessly combines strategy and action elements: gamers can control six heroes in a turn-based combat system. The game's depth goes beyond combat, allowing users to customize characters by customizing skills, choosing weapons and experimenting with equipment. Outside of the battlefield, users can explore a variety of locations and interact with numerous non-player characters (NPCs), immersing themselves in a richly detailed setting. During the course of the game, gamers must understand the complex dynamics of the conflict with Luin, uncover the secrets associated with the “Keys” and their role in summoning the knights.
