Chernobyl: Origins – psychological horror with quest elements. The gameplay involves moving through creepy locations and exploring them, solving logic problems and encountering otherworldly phenomena and creatures. The main character finds himself at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986, where he will reveal the terrifying secret of the disaster that happened, which the whole world learned about.

The user will play the role of one of the scientists of the secret laboratory and will move through the depths of the nuclear power plant. The gameplay begins with the first moments of a future disaster. The central character needs to find a way out and save his own life during explosions and the release of huge amounts of radiation. Along the way, he will encounter mutants, anomalies and madmen who can no longer be saved. Decisions made during a mission will make the difference between saving a life and losing one.

The campaign consists of 6 consecutive episodes. The passage requires solving puzzles and making choices. There are 3 endings, radically different from each other. The user will be able to help employees or leave them to certain death. Sometimes the walking dead and mutants who were the first to take the blow of the radiation release will stand in the way, causing their body and brain to instantly change. Anomalies have a certain damage radius, or negative effects upon collision.
