Clepsydra Hikari to Kage no Jujika – a visual novel set in a dark universe. This world is on the border between dimensions for the living and the dead. Clepsydra is a place where higher beings decide the fate of souls and thus determine where they should go. For some reason unknown to all the inhabitants of Clepsydra, a girl named Eva gets here. The unique fact is that she is still alive, which has not happened for thousands of years.

The events of Clepsydra Hikari to Kage no Jujika take place in a huge temple called the Church of Light. Soon after Eva's arrival, a dead man also appears here. His soul is about to be judged, which will decide his future fate. He has a rather mysterious and contradictory past, and making a decision is not as easy as it seems at first glance. The protagonist has a little time before sunset, and during this period, the main character must get to know the dead man as best she can.

Throughout the game, the gamer will participate in an endless series of dialogues. In them, the user can communicate with various characters, each of whom has a unique character and backstory. Periodically, the user is forced to make key decisions that have consequences and can turn the storyline in a completely different direction. According to the tradition of the genre, there are several endings – there are both happy endings and dramatic defeats.
