Events Coffee Talk take place in an alternative Seattle in 2020. Not only people live in the city, but also orcs, elves, succubi and even aliens. For locals, this has long become the norm; ENT does not explain the reason for such diversity. The main character is an ordinary barista in a coffee shop. One day, a journalist girl, Freya, visits him. She wants to write an article about the protagonist's place of work and the people who visit it. Helping her with this, the hero begins to listen to what the visitors are saying around him, and he himself takes part in the dialogues.

Most of the time in Coffee Talk you just need to delve into the speeches of the characters sitting at the counter and sometimes respond to them with phrases offered to choose from. The personal stories of such strangers are the essence of the game. These small plots are given a lot of time to unfold, and in the end you can even get different endings. However, they will not depend on conversations, but on the second component of the gameplay.

In addition to delving into other people's lives, the protagonist must fulfill his direct duties. That is, provide customers with the drinks they order. The process of preparing an order is presented as a small mini-game. First you need to choose a base, like tea or coffee. Then add sugar and toppings to taste. As a finishing touch, you can even draw something with foam in the coffee. Sometimes the characters ask for specific drinks, while other days they only give a vague desire for a taste. And the outcome of the story will depend on the quality of service.
