IN Command: Modern Operations events unfold in the period from World War II to modern times. The user can take part in battles that will take place in a non-standard form – the game map is represented by satellite images of the Earth's surface. The combat units themselves are indicated by appropriately shaped icons. Fighters, bombers and similar vehicles are indicated by an aircraft icon, the direction of which is coordinated with the unit's orientation. Selected fighters are separated from the rest using a rectangle that outlines the picture. The game will be difficult for inexperienced players, since it contains a considerable number of various adjustable parameters. However, if you understand the mechanics and controls, you will be able to completely control what is happening and independently regulate the situation in battles.

The interface in Command: Modern Operations is designed to be intuitive. Several in-game windows can be open at the same time, in each of which you can click and switch something. These windows can be moved around the available screen area to keep everything you need at your fingertips. It will be possible to participate directly in battles using all kinds of combat vehicles – airplanes, helicopters and tanks, artillery and naval ships. Each type of equipment will be operated by soldiers, whose level of training may differ and range from ace to novice. The player can try to take advantage of the advantages provided by using the terrain and relief. You can take part in historical scenarios. Among other things, for example, it will be possible to jam enemy communications in order to cut off individual units from the army.
