Commander: The Great War invites the player to play the role of commander-in-chief and achieve victory in the Great War. Only patient and visionary leaders are able to win and make choices that affect the success of their operation. The event takes place in the center of an armed conflict, covering the time period from 1914 to 1918. The war is based on realistic information, with detailed terrain and capabilities in battles presented.

The project features a single and extensive single-player campaign starting on August 5, 1914. The user will have to complete tasks in his own way, come up with tactics and use different methods for success. There are 15+ units like armored cars, cavalry, infantry, tanks, artillery, armored trains and much more. In addition to ground soldiers and vehicles, there are air and sea combat assets.

The hexagonal map extends from the USA to Africa, Arabia, Scandinavia and the Urals. Each area has different weather, terrain and travel options. There are both real and fictional events. More than 40 unique historical moments appear depending on the gamer's choices. The actions taken will affect the success of the war, captured control points and many other aspects of the conflict. Each unit type has its own strengths and weaknesses.
