Costume Quest 2 is a continuation of the once sensational project. Here, the story again touches on two twins – Wren and Reynold. This time they travel back in time to confront the evil dentist Dr. Orel White. He intends to get rid of such a holiday as Halloween, removing it from people's lives forever. And in order to prevent this truly large-scale tragedy, the guys will have to go through many tests on the way to their goal.

Following in the footsteps of the previous game, Costume Quest 2 is based on suit ownership. Thus, each outfit can turn one of the group members into a superhero. Each such hero has his own set of skills applicable in battle. For example, a mage can attack from a long distance, and a pharaoh can heal allies. These and other maneuvers are carried out using stored energy. Otherwise, battles take place according to a standard turn-based system – teams take turns striking each other, trying to occasionally block incoming attacks. For each movement, a card is allocated, which, after use, goes to recharge. This means that you won’t be able to use it 2 times in a row, and you’ll have to come up with something new. Boss battles follow a similar pattern. The only difference is that their attacks are much more powerful than those of ordinary opponents, and it takes much more time to win. As for the presentation of the plot, cut scenes are reserved for this, where the heroes communicate with third-party units and move to new locations.
