The gameplay takes place in two-dimensional locations with a side view. The player has 1 or more loaders at their disposal, who will have to move boxes of different shapes to the places indicated by a white dotted line. Simple dragging will be hampered by ceilings, walls or other stationary objects. Therefore, you will have to rack your brains to understand how the workers can fulfill their mission. There are no time or move limits in the gameplay, so you can experiment with tactics in a measured and leisurely manner.

The Crate Mates puzzle features several mechanics that you will have to actively use to complete tasks. Loaders can jump on each other's shoulders to throw wooden boxes onto high ledges. You can also interact with mechanisms, such as moving platforms that need to be activated with a button. There will also be underwater stages where boxes can be freely moved in space. In addition, in a special transformer, you can turn a square box into an elongated rectangular one. The game has about 100 levels, the difficulty of which will gradually increase as you progress, revealing new abilities for workers. There are also stages designed for experienced puzzle lovers.
