The gameplay consists entirely of reading a large amount of text (descriptions, monologues and dialogues) and considering pictures. The gameplay occurs to relaxing music, which sets what is happening the right atmosphere.

Despite the fact that the visual component is, in fact, large sprites of the characters and flat backs, CRISS CROSS has effects and animation. All interlocutors in the dialogs are voiced. Also, the project can boast of good optimization, which will allow the game to run the owners of weak computers.

The ability to make decisions or choose replicas during conversations is absent here. The user can only passively observe the development of the plot. He, by the way, is completely linear here. There are no plot forks and different endings in it. The final here is only one. This is a romantic melodrama. History is spinning around a love triangle. The main character always treated love indifferently and thought that this feeling was alien to him. This continued until the protagonist met one girl and fell in love with her. At the same time, another young woman began to experience attraction to him.
