Dark and Light opens up a huge world of magic for the player, where fantastic creatures live. The gamer goes to explore the magical Universe, trying to survive, using charms and various spells, weapons, and developing a ward who is also able to control mounts. The survival simulator, made on the Unreal 4 engine, features a huge world with detailed environmental objects.

The planet Gaia recently exploded and all its dark energy fell onto the virtual Universe, which threatens it with extinction. Evil forces are active everywhere and the hero needs to settle down, collecting the necessary resources and building a house to ensure defense and repel the enemy. Here you can also tame a dragon, and gradually create a real fortress from your home. The locations in the game are varied – there are forests, swamp waters, volcanoes, mountains, caves, floating islands. In the process of moving, gamers will have to face not only darkness, but also severe frosts and heat. Dark energy, which has put the entire planet in danger, contributes to the fact that now it is more calm here during the day, and at night there comes a real kingdom of horror and chaos, where all creatures that are able to breathe fight among themselves.

The gameplay is based on magic, which surrounds the character everywhere, so the user should learn to control it, which is important for survival. At the start, the player creates a magic staff and gets about a hundred magical essences at his disposal, and also upgrades his combat spells and skills. Magic is used here to attack and defend, explore, summon creatures, and even move using self-created portals, and it is possible to change the weather, which is especially important during battles to gain a certain advantage. The protagonist also receives a considerable arsenal of weapons, consisting of cold weapons – daggers and crossbows, where there are only 14 copies for close and long-range battles. In the process, the protagonist encounters dozens of fantastic creatures, including dragons, unicorns and griffins. Some of the creatures can be tamed, others can be used for their own purposes to fight evil, and others can be killed to get resources. The character gradually increases their level, which helps improve their abilities – strength, endurance, speed, stamina. There is also a knowledge tree system in place here, where, for example, by frequently building houses, the player is upgraded in the direction of construction. It’s difficult to act alone, so it’s possible to team up with friends in a multiplayer mode, where each user receives separate tasks, which they perform, for example, construction, hunting or security.
