Dark Quest: Board Game is a board game with roguelike and adventure genre elements. The primary task in the passage is to gather a group of several people, and then draw cards that determine their journey. The characters go on an adventure where they encounter deadly traps, monsters and acquire better equipment. Their mission is to get to the sorcerer and kill him so that he stops using dark magic.

There is a new evil in the east in the person of a powerful sorcerer and student of chaos magic. He openly uses his abilities in an attempt to destroy a peaceful society. The elder gathers the last team of their several tribes to choose the best warriors. To destroy the powerful dark sorcerer, old alliances must be called upon. The elder accompanies the user as they progress and gives a variety of advice.

The gameplay uses cards, cubes and miniatures that display the location of the main characters, their health, abilities and much more. The passage begins in the hero camp, where the gamer will need to assemble a group, choosing from several characters, and then go on a journey. There are 12-18 playable fighters to choose from and over 60 monsters with unique skills, strengths and weaknesses. While exploring the environment, characters obtain treasures and level up, pumping up new skills.
