Storyline Dark Universe begins in 2054, when humanity achieves the technology of high-speed travel between distant cosmic points. After this, expansion on a huge scale begins. People begin to populate all the planets that come their way. A couple of years after the discovery of technology, they encounter an extraterrestrial civilization, and then another race and other inhabitants of the universe.

Alien civilizations turn out to be poorly developed, compared with humans, which is why they agree to join the Earth Alliance. Giant leaps are being made more and more often, and humanity is populating hundreds of worlds. One day they had to face a more powerful empire of the Kurulls, who considered themselves the main ones in space. Having met, they began a large-scale war for territories, resources and the right to consider themselves the master.

In the passage, the player will take control of the Kurulli, and not the people. You have to fight with the forces of humanity and try to defeat them. At the start of the gameplay, the gamer gets access to 1 of 3 planets with standard structures and technologies. New buildings, weapons and inventions are gradually unlocked. The user needs to create an army consisting of space fighters, infantry, large ships and much more. Each unit has its own characteristics, strengths and weaknesses.
