In a city planning simulator Dawn of Discovery the user takes on the role of the viceroy and protégé of the European emperor. His task is to build prosperous settlements where trade will be free between two civilizations – Christian Europe and the Muslim East. The game has several modes – story campaign and scenarios. In the first, the protagonist must uncover a villainous plot, save the emperor and prevent war between states. In the second, gamers get the opportunity to develop their settlement without plot restrictions.

Like any self-respecting simulation game, Dawn of Discovery requires resources to build a rich and happy city. First of all – wood and stone. They are used to construct buildings, from huts to giant temples. The more resources the user collects, the more people he will have. But after a certain point, population growth will require special resources. For example, for the subsequent development of a pumped-up European city, spices and quartz are required. And such artifacts can only be obtained in one way – through trade relations with eastern countries. Trade is one of the most significant gameplay elements. It makes it possible to earn large sums and purchase rare goods. You can also create an army and go to war with other cities.
