Death Come True makes it possible to combine playing and watching a movie into one. The plot tells the story of a guy named Makoto Karaki, who wakes up in a hotel room with a memory loss. The reason for awakening was a call from the concierge asking him to go down to the reception. The TV is turned on in the room, from which Karaki learns that he is a serial killer. While exploring the hotel, the hero realizes that it is impossible to leave it and all exits are sealed. At the hotel, the guy meets the concierge and two police investigators investigating his case. Akane Sachimura and Nozomu Kuji are the names of the investigators looking for the serial killer of the strangler. The main character is inexplicably drawn to Sachimura, after which his memories are gradually restored. Karaki decides to unravel the hotel's mystery and expose the murderer.

The main task of the player, oddly enough, is to carefully watch the film. The player can explore the hotel and conduct dialogues, restoring his memory. The game's plot is not linear and depends entirely on the player's choices. What to do, where to go, what to say – all this needs to be chosen and everything affects the further course of events. During the course of the investigation, Karaki may die several times, which is not a negative event. The next death, on the contrary, brings the player closer to the solution, and you can even get a “Death Medal” for it. These unusual medals unlock exclusive films called “DeathTube”.
