Protagonists Derelict Void becomes the crew of a small ship of junk dealers, who unexpectedly moved into an unknown layer of space called the Void. Lost and confused, they must find a way back to their home solar systems. And it is advisable to do this before the resources on the ship run out. Otherwise – slow starvation in the space between the stars. However, not everything is as terrible as it initially seems. Around there are fragments of other equipment that came here from outside. It is she who has to be examined and disassembled into components in order to survive.

In Derelict Void, the player has a specific goal – to escape from the Void. However, as in other sandboxes, achieving it can take varying amounts of time, depending on luck and desire. Counter events and debris are generated procedurally as the protagonists' ship flies through space. At points of interest, you can find both free materials and challenges or moral dilemmas. For example, other survivors asking for help. Or even vice versa, requiring support in exchange for a peaceful separation, instead of a battle.

However, you won’t have to fight – such situations are resolved through a text quest. The main gameplay is the study and analysis of oncoming skeletons, decision-making and development.
