Desert Gunner is a first-person action shooter, the main character of which is an ordinary soldier in the United States Army. The player will have to focus entirely on only one thing – shooting, because this project, released at the beginning of the century, uses the mechanics of a rail shooter. In “Desert Shooter,” the gamer drives an armored jeep along a predetermined route and cannot change it under any circumstances. A whole convoy is traveling with the virtual protégé’s jeep, which should be protected from approaching enemies. This should be done using a heavy machine gun mounted on the roof of the vehicle.

The user finds himself in the very epicenter of events, and must immediately get used to it in order to survive and go through all the prepared scenarios. Some of them include the ability to switch between several characters and fire from different parts of a column under attack by Soviet soldiers. The enemies have serious weapons – AK-47, RPGs, several types of grenades, as well as their own armored vehicles. To destroy it, the player can use the MK-19 grenade launcher, Hummer Avenger rocket launcher and Abrams tank. The chance to use cheat codes to gain an additional advantage over artificial intelligence has been implemented.
