Destroyer Command is a destroyer simulator. At the time of its release, the project stood out because it was made in full 3D. The project makes it possible to control an American warship. The multipurpose vessel is capable of effectively destroying submarines. Available marine engineering classes include Farragut, Bagley, Porter, Griddely, Clemson, Benham, Sims, Fletcher, Gleaves, Somers, Mahan and Allen M. Sumner. The arsenal includes several types of guns of different calibers, depth charges, and torpedoes. In addition, sonar, radar and illumination charges are available. The player takes on the role of a captain in the US Navy. The user is allowed to customize the difficulty level – from arcade to realistic.

In Russian localization the project has a slightly different name: Death Squadron. Its events take place during the Second World War. The game allows you to fight on the side of the Americans in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Each region has 20 missions. Among them are training tasks, historical episodes with a predetermined outcome, and procedurally generated operations with flexible settings. Often battles are fought without direct visual contact with the target. The title is made on the same engine as the cult sequel Silent Hunter, dedicated to submarines. Both video games have the same network code, which allows fans of two different franchises to organize online battles. Some users control submarines in multiplayer, while other gamers control destroyers.
