Dirt Rally 2.0 focuses on only two types of racing – rally and cross-rally. Throughout the story campaign and multiplayer races, racers will have to race on public tracks. It is allowed to run both off-road and asphalt in Poland, Spain, USA, Australia, Argentina and New Zealand. In addition, there is a chance to participate in an official FIA tournament in a separate campaign. You will have to drive more than 50 licensed cars. Each can be finely tuned to suit you, both technically and externally.

An important part of Dirt Rally 2.0 is the simulation of weather conditions and destructibility. Rain, sun, and other conditions significantly affect the behavior of the car. The grip can become weak on wet asphalt, and in mud, if you’re unlucky, you can even get stuck. The road under the wheels is also not eternal. If it’s humid around, and there’s bare earth on the way, a swamp will certainly form there after a couple of laps. In such conditions, damaging the car is especially unprofitable, because the damage is carried over between races.

As before, it is possible to hire a team and train its members so that they can service the car faster and better. However, on the other hand, many features were cut out. For example, customizing liveries or sponsorship contracts. But the strategic element has increased significantly. Tires alone can change the course of an entire match. The soft ones will wear out quickly, but will give the desired grip, while the hard ones will benefit greatly in terms of wear rate.
