Divinity Chronicles: Journey to the West – a video game that combines roguelike and card simulator gameplay. It is based on “Journey to the West” – an old Chinese novel that tells the adventures of the monkey king Sun Wukong and his companions. Here the user has access to play as Wukong himself and several other heroes, such as the Holy Monk or the great White Dragon. Each hero has his own storyline and abilities, so the passage for the monkey king and the Dragon differ significantly.

Character skills are implemented as follows:

• Spells and techniques of all heroes are depicted as cards. When the gamer uses them, burning or directing them towards the enemy – the controlled warrior activates the skill. The number of cards is limited by the deck, which encourages you to carefully select the set.
• In addition to the standard and common spells, fighters have unique abilities available only to them. For example, Sun Wukong can change the length and weight of his staff, turn his own hairs into monkey assistants, and change his appearance by adopting other people's skills.

The gamer begins the passage of Divinity Chronicles: Journey to the West alone – but the path to the West is long and difficult, even for an experienced adventurer. To make the journey easier, the developers added the ability to hire companions. There is also a function for summoning various warriors and monsters during the battle and even luring an enemy fighter to your side. The further the protagonist goes, the more dangers he will encounter.
