Project developers Dread X Collection 2 created a competition of sorts, inviting many video game creators to design and produce 12 adventures based on a meta-narrative with horror elements. Each journey is presented as a separate game from a specific studio or group of developers. Video games are based on different engines and have original narratives and features.

All projects are connected by a common secret that is revealed as they progress. It all starts when the user finds himself in a small room and finds himself locked in it. The hazy light from the only TV helps you see your surroundings. There are ribbons scattered in the steel coffins, and a strange statue always catches the eye. Suddenly, the main character hears a distinct unknown voice breaking the long silence. He says to check the VCR for the key. Having found the object and the tape, the protagonist inserts the tape into the device, and then finds himself in surreal 12 worlds.

The plots and passages are different. The player will have to look for Charlotte, who has gone missing, but left behind an old note written in an ancient language. The gamer will play the role of an astronaut searching for geological objects under the surface of the Moon. In the episode “Squirrel Stapler: Hunt squirrels” you have to hunt squirrels, attaching them to a corpse to summon an ancient god. The chapter “The Diving Bell” will take the user to the underwater and deadly depths, where he can survive if he gets to the bell.
