Everybody's Gone to the Rapture takes the player to an English village. Residents disappeared due to an unknown incident. The main character went to explore a paranormal place to find out the reason for the disappearance of people of a small village without a trace. The character took with him equipment and minor items to help collect information bit by bit.

The story takes place in 1984 in the fictional village of Yaton in England. Progress through the plot occurs by searching for key elements in houses, on walls, in notes left behind and other things. The user is able to interact with the floating lights to reveal more details of what is happening. The world includes many interactive objects such as telephones, fences, power switches, doors, radios and much more. The ward moves at a slow speed and increased, if desired.

The gamer has a single goal – to explore the corners of a strange place and find out why all the inhabitants disappeared. Their belongings were left behind and the bodies were not discovered by any detectives. There are glowing lights left on the streets; if you touch them, they will tell you what happened in this place with a resident. The territory is divided into 5 areas, each of them revolves around a specific character. Residents disappear gradually, and most of the remaining people experience painful symptoms.
