Ex-Zodiac is a classic arcade shooter in the style of old-school games of the late 90s. The plot here takes a secondary place, not entirely explaining the battles taking place on the screen. The player will control a fighter that will constantly fly forward, encountering hordes of enemies along the way. Each enemy type has its own attack and movement pattern. If the shot of some can be blocked, others can be reflected back, then others can only be dodged. This will be the main part of the gameplay – dodging the shots of adversaries and destroying enemies. Do not forget that various obstacles along the way also pose a threat, which can seriously damage your health if you run into them.

To annihilate enemies in Ex-Zodiac, a regular gun and a supply of bombs are available at first. The first weapon shoots a directional volley, and it can be improved to increase the damage and range of the shot. Bombs can completely clear the screen of enemies at once, but replenishing their arsenal is quite a labor-intensive task. The gamer awaits level 12, where each stage will end with a meeting with the boss. Each of them symbolizes a creature from the Zodiac. For example, one of the opponents will be a mechanical crab with sharp claws and blasters instead of eyes. And the locations here are dedicated to one of the historical periods of the planet in a certain region. In one of the levels, you will even be allowed to fly in an extinct volcano, where you will need to avoid falling rocks.
