ExcaliBug is a role-playing adventure with real-time tactical combat. The long story campaign takes place in a fictional world inhabited by a variety of beetles that have received human intelligence and additional development of their own bodies, allowing them to walk on two legs, use weapons and move deftly. The game supports cooperative playthrough of all available content, so a gamer can invite three friends and start a joint adventure, where each user will take on their own unique protagonist. The four heroes differ from each other not only by belonging to different types of beetles, but also by their abilities.

The storyline involves more than 40 non-player characters, for whom 715 movement animations were made. During battles, enemies will be controlled by sophisticated artificial intelligence, which can change the initial tactics and use various maneuvers to complicate the life of the gamer. During the adventure, the user will visit dozens of different locations where the cycle of day and night is implemented – castles, caves, swamps, canyons, and so on.
