The gameplay style of Faerie Afterlight is a classic platformer. Kimo comes under the control of the players, and Whispy simply follows him, constantly staying close to him. The final goal remains the same throughout the entire playing time – you need to get to the treasured place, overcoming obstacles. At first everything will be quite calm and measured, but very soon enemies will appear in the locations. Some of them can be destroyed by inflicting a series of blows to the body, while in other situations it is not even worth engaging in battle. It’s enough to talk to them for them to come over to the side of the heroes and help eliminate another obstacle on the way. As you progress through the levels, there will be many segments for interaction. For example, one involves placing Whispy in the center of an imaginary diamond to bend the space and connect two pieces of land, bridging the gap. There will also be boss battles that take place in specially designed areas of the area. After such an opponent is defeated, the player will have the opportunity to take part of his body for himself, receiving a kind of upgrade. There is also a pumping system that allows you to increase the basic characteristics, thereby facilitating the process of achieving the goal.
