You can take the role of a survivor who can travel through the streets of abandoned settlements, defending from the attacking crowds of evil spirits. There is a change of day and night, which affects the tactics of passage. The enemies are activated at night, so during the bright part of the day you can try to find shelter in advance. In addition to the number of opponents, their speed, strength and danger as a whole also change at night.

The user in Fear The Night can travel through all kinds of locations in order to engage in collecting useful items. You can find all kinds of first -aid kits, medical devices and ammunition, as well as weapons and equipment elements. The chief hero is useful for life, as he has a hunger scale. Using food, it will be possible to feed the character temporarily for a while, so he will retain the ability to move and defend himself from attackers.

In addition to zombies, the game contains robotic secondary heroes – companions. They were developed even before the mass outbreak of the virus in order to protect against evil spirits. However, the robots were incorrectly configured, because of which they cannot distinguish a healthy person from a zombie. At the same time, there is an opportunity to hack them and make them combat comrades who will help in eliminating the enemies. You can also engage in the seizure of territories on which the surviving structures are located – some buildings retain functionality and can be useful.
