Action Fester Mudd: Curse of the Gold – Episode 1 takes place in the Wild West and is a three-episode saga with exploration missions and comic elements. The story is about exploration, redemption and reunion. The gameplay is inspired by projects from the 90s, offering an old-school atmosphere. The main character breaks out of his own laziness and tries to reunite with his brother, who disappeared a long time ago.

Fester Mudd is trying to find a lost relative and with him get to the unimaginable riches hidden in the Wild West. The central character shows fearlessness, ambition and brilliant ideas, but sometimes stupid actions, stupidity and cowardice pop out. Bud may be in the long-abandoned town of Loamsmouth, which is where Fester heads first. As soon as he gets to the appointed place, he finds his brother missing.

Mudd understands that he cannot give up, which is why he goes further to search for Bud. The first episode only begins to tell the story, but does not complete it. The protagonist travels through Loamsmouth and the surrounding area. He will face scammers, thugs and neutral characters. Interaction with the environment occurs using a point-and-click system. The gamer will need to solve puzzles, look for hidden objects, communicate with minor characters and explore regions.
