FINAL FANTASY 14 Online starts with character creation. The hero ends up in 1 of 3 states. The terrain depends on the chosen race. You can change your character class only after completing level 10 quests. The plot takes place in the world of Heidelin. Only the Eorzea region can be explored. It is distinguished by the abundance of a useful resource called Ether. This attracts both people and greedy monsters. All races and classes fight for the Ether. The resource is necessary for crafting items, magic spells, and teleportation. Eorzea is famous for its mountains, deserts, green forests, rivers and waterfalls.

The region has a history, it is divided into eras. At first the earth was inhabited by gods and blessed tribes. Final Fantasy XIV takes place during the 7th Dark Era. The Dragon King Bahamut almost destroyed everything. The country of Ulda is famous for trade. The citizens of Gridania live in the forest, while Limsa Lominsa is located on the seashore. The states are headed by their own Grand Company, which is responsible for protecting the territory and economic development. The hero can work for the government. Separately, there are the countries of Sharlian, Ala Migo and the Ishgardian Holy See. Eorzea has 2 main enemies. This is a high-tech army of the Hyur race and tribes of evil star people.

What races are there:

• Au Ra – look like people with elements of a dragon’s body, divided into 2 clans;
• Elesen – elves with pointed ears, do not want to quarrel with other races, are divided into the Gloomy and the inhabitants of virgin forests;
• Roegadin – live in the north, are distinguished by their gigantic size, many go fishing by the sea;
• Mikote – they differ from ordinary people by the presence of cat tails and ears, and are divided into day and night clans;
• The Hyur are not the original inhabitants of the region, but brought high technology to Eorzea.
