Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a continuation of the survival horror franchise that uses point-n-click mechanics to create exciting gameplay based on attentiveness and reaction. The events of the new part unfold in the time frame of the second game in the series, and tell the story of a little boy who experiences nightmares in the form of animatronic toys – Foxy, Bonnie, Chica and Freddy. The project uses the little-known ClickTeam 2.5 engine, which made it possible to implement many mechanics related to observing objects in the protagonist’s room, and provided the opportunity to diversify the gameplay with the help of mini-games.

The single-player campaign is a series of nights in which a child fights off terrible toys that want to kill him. To scare away the animatronics, you can use a flashlight, exploring all the ways that they can use to enter the main character’s bedroom. Mini-games that occur at certain points in the passage shed light on the details of the plot of this part and the lore of the entire universe, where animated dolls and plush animals live. For those players who are already familiar with the gameplay of the series, the developers have prepared additional challenges in the form of several modes – Blind Mode, Mad Freddy, Instant Foxy and All Nightmare. They add certain difficulties to the usual levels, increasing the degree of fear and difficulty.
