Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast with – Continuation of the first part from the trilogy of adventure stories about Gabriel Nayya. Compared to the previous game, the sequel was fully executed using Full Motion Video technology. In history, elements of German mythology are mixed in a peculiar way, along with the history of Bavaria. The mystic-historical detective is ready to return the player to the path of mysterious investigations.

The alternative name of the game is the Beast with: a gabriel Knight Mystery. In the storyline there are ancient legends of the Werwolfs, and also tells about German history, or rather about the period of the reign of the last Bavarian king Ludwig II. Around all this, brutal killings are taking place, secret organizations are operating and intrigues occur. The character is Gabriel Knight – a writer from the USA and the owner of the bookstore. He will compose the company's faithful companion Grace Nakimura. The hero inherited the Ritter Castle in Bavaria and the SChattenjäger title (shadow hunter). This obliges him to take care of and protect the local inhabitants. Once, peasants are addressing him, who are asking to find out who is behind the murder of one girl.

The passage is divided into 6 parts. Game mechanics is built in such a way that the user is given the opportunity to play in turn for one of the two heroes. Investigators work separately. Gabriel goes to Munich, and Grace to Rittersberg.
