IN Geneforge 4: Rebellion the player takes control of Greta's general and supposed rebel. The main character approaches the Southhorn fortress, but along the way he loses most of the team. Soon he may be left alone, but even with his own efforts he will need to face the powerful army of the Creator and lead the rebels.

The gameplay is typical of the RPG genre, and the action takes place in a fantasy world. In the fourth chapter of the Geneforge saga, the user will find himself on the planet of the Shapers, where he can freely explore the territories and choose the side for which he will fight. The central character gathers an army of skilled warriors and monsters with unique features. The game world consists of 80+ locations to explore with different enemies, designs and loot. Each side of the conflict has its own advantages, cities and quests.

Compared with previous games in the saga, there are many innovations. The first change is the graphics, animations and visual effects, which have become better. The world has become much larger with main and side quests. Depending on the gamer’s choices, not only the side the hero will take will change, but also the ending. To achieve goals, the user can use diplomacy, stealth, or take part in battles. In important story parts, cut scenes and dialogues between characters are shown, where choices are sometimes available.
