Generals Desert Storm 2 – an independent modification that significantly changes the gameplay of the original game. Changes start right in the main menu. There's an unfamiliar battle going on in the background, a new company to choose from, and the biggest change is on the side selection screen. GLA and China disappeared from the list. Instead, Iraq and Russia now show off, while the other factions remain unchanged.

The central core of Command & Conquer's gameplay remains the same. In the modified campaign, as in the original, the same missions can be completed for different sides of the conflict. Starting with limited resources and a small squad, the first step is to build a base. For example, capture resource extraction points and set up barracks with factories for the production of infantry and equipment. Then you can start attacking the enemy. In the process, “general points” are earned, for which you can call for a variety of support, repair units, or even buy superweapons.

The main innovations, in addition to missions in the single-player campaign, are manifested precisely in the recruitment of troops for each side. For example, the former Mammoth tank from China has been converted into a self-propelled gun. At the same time, all its improvements have been replaced by only the Patriot cannon. And Iraq, the former GLA, now has its own aviation. It is represented by one plane dropping chemical weapons on the enemy. In addition, some models and icons have been redrawn, and some factions have added superweapon options. The same Russia can now call for an MIG attack.
