Grim Fandango Remastered shows what life can be like after entering the afterlife. Here, dying, a person goes on a journey of 4 years to ultimately get to the 9th afterlife. All this happens accompanied by an agent from the Department of Death. At the same time, you can get to your destination either by train, or by cruise ship, or even by rented car. This process happens all the time, but the game shows a special day – November 2. This is when the Day of the Dead, a Mexican national holiday, occurs. Then, all the dead can return to the world of the living to see their loved ones.

In terms of gameplay, Grim Fandango Remastered is a classic adventure. Moving through locations and interacting with objects occurs by clicking the mouse on the corresponding area next to the hero. As in the original game, the re-release offers to take the place of Manny Cavalier, an agent of that same department. During the entire time he performs his duties, he will meet a variety of characters. each of which has its own story. For example, Salvador Limones is the leader of a local revolutionary group who is fighting against a local crime boss. All the characters here are decorated in the style of that same Mexican holiday – their bodies resemble skeletons with clothes on top. In addition to the main part of the gameplay, the plot is presented through dialogues and cut scenes in which key events occur. And taking into account the fact that this is an updated edition, the visual and audio components have been brought to a qualitatively new level, which also affects perception.
