GTA Vice City is a continuation of the GTA series. The action takes place in a city called Vice City. The user controls the character Tommy Vercetti. This is a former criminal who spent 15 years in prison. The gameplay is that the main character needs to perform various illegal actions. He receives assignments from criminal leaders. Thanks to this, he has the opportunity to increase his level and destroy his enemies in the person of Sonny Forelli and Lance Vance. The gamer can shoot from various types of weapons, fight with other characters, and steal vehicles. They are represented by a wide variety of cars. These are cars and trucks, helicopters, boats, motorcycles, ambulances and police.

The following characters are present in GTA Vice City:

• Sonny Forelli. The main mafioso, because of whom Tommy Vercetti went to jail for 15 years;
• Ken Rosenberg. The lawyer who helps Tommy all the time;
• Lance Vance. Tommy's friend, then a traitor;
• Danny Dyer. Sound engineer of the group First Love. Obtains information for the protagonist;
• Juan Garcia Cortez. A former colonel, currently illegally trading in military equipment;
• Ricardo Diaz. A drug dealer who often becomes aggressive;
• Phil Cassidy. Arms dealer;
• Mercedes Cortez. The spoiled child of a rich father;
• Aunt Pule. Leader of the Haitian mafia;
• Umberto Robina. Leader of the Cuban mafia.

The game takes place in Vice City in 1986. This is a fictional city in the United States. Its prototype is Miami. Tommy Vercetti has a wide arsenal of weapons to choose from. These are throwing, bladed and firearms. Edged weapons are purchased in tool stores. Heavy weapons are sold by Phil Cassidy, but throwing and firearms are available in gun shops. One of the unique types of weapons is a regular camera.

As for vehicles, there are 101 types. These are mostly ordinary cars. But there are also 7 types of helicopters, 10 watercraft, 6 motorcycles, and an airplane. These vehicles have a damage system. It worsens their technical characteristics. Inside the car, the main character can change the camera view – cinematic camera, third-person view, and bumper-side view are available.
