Heart de Roommate is a visual novel focused on creating a good relationship with an attractive girl chosen as you progress. The player will play the role of a young guy named Yusuke. He goes to another town, enrolling in a higher educational institution. Having moved, he faces the first difficulties, one of which is finding suitable housing. The dorm is completely filled with students, forcing him to find another place to temporarily live.

The main character meets with girls who offer him help, saying that he can stay in their room. The guy agrees and goes to live with them. As the game progresses, the user will have to communicate with minor characters, mostly female, in order to improve relationships and try to build romantic relationships. The gamer is able to determine for himself with whom to have an affair.

Most of the gameplay takes place within conversations, where you need to make certain choices. The actions taken influence the further narrative and the relationships between the protagonist and attractive women. Having a good relationship, the user will have access to intimate scenes. Along the way, the ward will meet many girls, and each of them has her own appearance, character and behavior.
