IN Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption you have to take control of Sean, a rogue who recently started attending the school of heroes. The playthrough begins with Sean competing with his classmates throughout the day. At night, he finds himself in dark catacombs, where he will explore the environment, solve puzzles and complete quests. Access to closed areas is gradually opening up.

The protagonist will take part in multiple dialogues with minor people. The answers chosen in the conversation will affect its outcome, as well as change the course of the storyline. Along the way, Sean O-Conner will encounter opponents. The combat system is presented in a turn-based manner with tactical elements. Many battles can be avoided by sneaking past enemies or finding a workaround. Traveling through a mysterious castle, the user becomes a Rogue.

Together with his friends and comrades, he is able to descend into a mysterious dimension every night, fight deadly opponents and uncover the secrets of his own past hidden in the mind. The day proceeds like a normal school day with socializing, conversations, mini-games, competitions and activities. In night adventures, the central character will obtain equipment, weapons, and encounter monsters and other heroes. You have to fight the creatures and defend the state of Sardonia along with the school.
