Events Highwater take place in a near alternative future of the planet, when the actions of mankind have led to irreversible consequences. Uncontrolled extraction of natural resources, the greenhouse effect and a complete rush in environmental policy made it possible that the poles and glaciers melted and brought a terrible catastrophe on a global scale. Most of the land was flooded with salt waters. Changes in the configuration of the water surface led to structural shifts in climate, so the remaining territories turned into wastelands due to lack of precipitation.

At the center of the Highwater narrative is the lucky Nikos and a small group of survivors who chose the main character as their leader. Together they will have to survive as long as possible in this wild land. The new life forces people to go to extreme measures in camouflage, arrangement and self-defense. Now we must rely not on the services of the forces of law and order, but on our own weapons and the desire to win. The surrounding clans are unwilling to share their loot and property, so they often have to resort to violent methods to seize the necessary equipment, supplies and weapons. Establishing diplomatic relations with neighbors will help prevent such an episode and establish a truce. During this time, the group will gain a foothold, become stronger, and receive minerals to build houses and fortifications.
