Otome visual novel How to Take Off Your Mask offers the gamer to play as Lilia. She is an ordinary woman who works in her grandmother's bakery. Lilia lives in the glorious state of Erulia and is friends with the young guard Ronan, whom she treats like a little brother. Her measured and quiet life is interrupted by an unexpected transformation into Lucretia – a person with cat ears and a tail. Everything would be fine, but in Erulia such creatures are treated with strong prejudice, so the protagonist runs away from home in shock. The first person she meets is Ronan.

Unlike other characters, the young man is fascinated by the cat girl, whom he calls Leah, and treats her with genuine sympathy. Later, Lilia learns that an old acquaintance is hiding an important secret from her – but will she be able to reveal the secret to Ronan herself? This is the main goal of the plot of the novel How to remove the mask. If the user can achieve that the main characters open up to each other, then he will have the opportunity to reach positive endings.

The project has two main routes – Lilia's route and Leah's route. They have different endings, and the user's decisions determine which ending the story will end with. However, both endings end well for all the characters. In addition to the main plot, the game also features bonus stories. They do not affect the main events, but can diversify the passage.
