Hurtworld crosses several genres. It is a first and third person shooter, multiplayer action, sandbox and open world survival simulator. The indie project has PvP and PvE content. There are different biomes: snowy areas, desert locations, savannah, mountains and stuff like that.

Characters need basic needs met. They can die not only at the hands of monsters or other players, but also from cold or hunger. To walk calmly in a cold area, you need to stock up on provisions and warm clothes. Food, by the way, tends to spoil over time. In Hurtworld, heroes start with simple weapons, such as spears and bows. However, the game also has modern weapons, such as pistols and assault rifles. You can also drive cars and trucks or fly helicopters.

Bonfires allow you to warm up, and buildings provide an opportunity to hide from blizzards, blizzards, downpours and other adverse weather conditions. The change of day and night is also available. There is crafting and construction. To build buildings and create or improve items, you need to extract and process resources. In this case, other users on the server can break into the house, kill its owner and seize or destroy property. Gamers are allowed to join groups to fight aggressive users and mobs. You can also craft cars here. However, the equipment requires periodic repairs. They are also allowed to engage in farming and hunting.
