Iron Aces: Heroes of WW2 is an arcade flight simulator. As the name suggests, the video game is set in the setting of World War II. Before starting the passage, users are asked to come up with a name for the pilot, choose the type of difficulty and decide on the side of the conflict. You can fight for Russia or Germany. There is a small story for each country. It is presented through short text inserts between tasks. The story focuses on the adventures of a pilot from a particular country, his participation in military operations and his further promotion. He performs various missions where he is asked to patrol the skies over Stalingrad or Berlin, accompany allies from point A to B, destroy enemy air equipment, strike ground targets, and so on.

Iron Aces: Heroes of World War II has two alternative titles. The project is also known as Red Skies over Europe. And when translated into Russian, the localizers called the title For the Motherland. You cannot save at any time in the game. However, you can replay already completed levels and launch opened stages from the main menu. Users are offered to pilot fighter jets. As gamers progress, they earn upgrades for their combat aircraft. The project has a minimalistic interface. The screen displays the remaining ammunition, radar, score and current mission objectives.
