IN Jalopy You will have to improve, repair and drive an old, falling apart car to travel through the territory of the crumbling Eastern Bloc and explore countries such as Germany, Hungary, the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. The plot revolves around the fact that the uncle of the main character, Lutfi, offers to go with him on a long journey, for a specific purpose, which he keeps secret, in his old car. The environment is poorly rendered, minimalistic and cartoonish. The landscapes are of the same type, depicted in muted colors, with no bright colors. There is only a single mode.

Vehicle maintenance plays a big role in Jalopy. It is necessary to change the oil, refuel with gasoline, check the condition of the tires and engine, and almost every auto part of the vehicle must be repaired. By pointing at the components, a notepad appears on the right side of the screen with a note about this accessory (factory air filter – a small air filter used to remove particles and air in the fuel mixture. Weighs 3 kg, and adds 10% to reduce engine wear). If the driving force stops working due to a breakdown or the fuel runs out, you will have to push the car to the nearest city or gas station. Spare parts are bought with money earned by selling various kinds of junk collected along the way. There is no musical accompaniment, only minor quiet sound effects.
