Kara no shoujo – The second episode – is a continuation of the story of private detective Reiji Tokisaki. Two years have passed since he solved the crimes of serial killers and helped put one of them behind bars. But the second one disappeared along with Toko – a girl whom the callous detective, who survived the horrors of World War II, fell in love with with all his heart. All this time, the protagonist tirelessly searched for any evidence that would help him get on the trail of the maniac and Toko. At one point, Reiji saves a young guy Masaki, who tried to commit suicide, and hires him as an assistant. It soon turns out that the annoying newcomer knows more than he tells, and is somehow connected to a new series of monstrous murders.

The Girl in the Shell, Episode 2 has the following features:

• The plot involves not only the characters of the previous part, but also the heroes of the very first game of the developers. They connect the events of several video games into a single story, and the old heroes play a big role in the story.
• As in the previous episode, the protagonist can carefully examine crime scenes and interrogate characters. This is necessary if the gamer wants to find out the truth and get to the true ending. This also requires attentiveness – evidence is easy to miss, and suspects often lie.
• The outcome of the story depends on the player's choices and decisions. If the gamer trusts the wrong person or makes a mistake, the game may end with the hero's death.
